Condominium Director Certificate Program - 101 Governance Fundamentals

Understanding the legal requirements for condominium governance is important in order to run your condominium smoothly. The relationship between the corporation’s rules, by-laws, declaration, and the Condominium Act must be clearly understood to ensure that decisions being made by the board are legal, consistent, and fair. This course will introduce you to everything you need to know about governance fundamentals and how they impact your condo. It will also introduce students to other legislation that impacts condominiums.

By the end of the course, you will be able to understand the basics of condominium governance.

Condominium Director Certificate Program - 102 Insurance Fundamentals

Understanding condominium corporation insurance is important in knowing how to run your condominium smoothly. That’s why it’s essential to learn about the fundamentals of what condominium corporation insurance covers before making any decisions. This course will introduce you to everything you need to know about insurance fundamentals and how they impact your condominium.

By the end of the course, you will be able to understand the basics of condominium corporation insurance and what it covers. You will also understand the differences between what the corporation must insure and what insurance responsibilities rest on the unit owners. It will also touch upon the differences between regular repair and maintenance and insurable losses.

Condominium Director Certificate Program - 103 Budget Audit and Financial Statement Fundamentals

Understanding condominium finances is important in knowing how to run your condominium smoothly. That’s why it’s essential to learn about budgeting, auditing, and financial statements before making any decisions. This course will introduce you to everything you need to know about condominium finances and how they impact your condominium.

By the end of the course, you will be able to understand how to control expenditures, safeguarding assets, maintaining reliable records, and providing meaningful financial statements to owners.

Condominium Director Certificate Program - 104 Enforcement Fundamentals

Understanding enforcement in condominium communities is important in knowing how to run your condominium smoothly. That’s why it’s essential to learn about the legal framework that governs condominium corporations before making any decisions. This course will introduce you to everything you need to know about enforcement in condominium communities and how they impact your condominium.

By the end of the course, you will be able to understand the practical considerations of compliance issues and preparing for the need to enforce. You will also be able to outline the various legal processes that are available to condominium corporations when enforcement is required.

Attendees are eligible for four (4) CMRAO Continuing Professional Education credit for attending this program. When submitting your CMRAO credits through your user account on the CMRAO website, you will require the receipt for your registration for this program as your proof of completion.

Upon completion of all courses, a condominium Director will be awarded a CCI Condominium Director Certificate, which will demonstrate their commitment and willingness to go above the minimum standards required by the Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO).
